Christy Lee Rogers
Christy Lee Rogers is an artist I found while browsing artists' websites and blogs. Her work is beautiful and amazing. She is a self-taught photographer. In my opinion, her photos look like Baroque oil paintings.
"With an eye for the chiaroscuro qualities of light, her subjects bend and distort; bathing in darkness, isolated by light, and are brought to life by ones own imagination."

This is one of her awesome videos.

Progress on my ballerina
Finally got back to my acrylic ballerina. I painted her arms and legs and lightened her bottom leg. She seems a little washed-out. I think she needs more detail in her arms and legs and maybe her face and hair. Hopefully I'll have it done in time for South MS Art Association's annual juries exhibition. Their site is on my Links and Resources page, which I'm seriously considering changing to The Sausage Links page. Seems catchier, ya know? ;-)

Neat Little Things...
Isn't it too adorable? It reminds me of the story my mom used to tell me about when I was little. My mom always used to tell me to be unique with my art; I don't have to do what everyone else is doing. So, one time, when I was in the first or second grade, the teacher told us to color a bear by the numbers inside each area. I decided not to follow directions - be unique. I colored my bear was all different colors, instead of just brown. The teacher gave me a bad grade and talked to my mom about it. My mom explained to me what she meant about being unique.
Needless to say, mine was the most beautiful bear in the class :)

On to watercolors!
So... I got bored with acrylic. I've been playing/practicing with watercolor. Just checking out some textures and stuff.
So here's a couple close-ups:
I'm excited to get started doing a few abstract watercolors!

Show us a little leg ;)
The top leg isn't even halfway done yet. The bottom leg is what I focused on mostly tonight. Turns out this stuff is slow-go. I usually do abstract painting. This is my first painting like this.
The dark shadows seem a little too dark right now. What do you think? I'm thinking I'll continue with the other leg and the rest of her skin and see what needs touch-ups for that.
Oh, have you seen my new little button over to the left? It'll take you to
www.EverythingEtsy.com
which is a cool place for Etsy-ers of all types. Very helpful websites. I'm in the process of designing a banner for my Etsy shop! Maybe even a logo for my shop and future business cards! Can't wait to get this show on the road :)
Btw, someone hacked my Twitter! What the poo! My Twitter is kinda useless to me though. Never caught on to it. But I did change my password. Crazy hackers! Trix are for kids!

New Blog! First Post!
Hi, everyone!
This is my new blog. It will hopefully help me promote myself with my future shop on Etsy and my artwork in general. I'm not promising a post every day, maybe not even every week, but I will have updates about my work as well as links to some of my favorite artists and their work. Enjoy!
